Bitter cumin to prevent aging as well as potent antioxidant

Bitter cumin which is usually used as a spice in cooking turned out to contain high levels of potent antioxidants called phenolic antioxidants that can prevent DNA damage and a strong healing and anti-aging properties.

A study published in BioMedCentral's open access journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, stated that bitter cumin can also reduce fever and relieve pain. The researchers from Central Food Technological Research Institute in Mysore, India, using biochemical and biological analyses showed that the bitter cumin seeds are rich in phenolic antioxidants. The bitter cumin extracts offer complete protection against DNA damage and a powerful healing as well as anti-aging properties.

The over-production of free radicals in the body will contribute to the aging process or even the heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants appear to clean up these free radicals, prevent disease and slow down the aging. Actually, bitter cumin has been traditionally used to treat maladies such as vitiligo, high blood sugar, and viral infections.
