Baldness at an early age could be a sign of prostate cancer

If you are a man and your hair has started falling out at the age of 20 years, you better check your health to your doctor to make sure whether you experienced the symptoms of prostate cancer. Recently study in France has shown that men with baldness at an early age have the possibility of the risk of prostate cancer doubled.

In addition to unattractive, balding at an early age should be addressed properly to ensure our health. Research showed that signs of baldness at an early age has been experienced by sufferers of prostate cancer, and the loss at more mature age have a lower risk.

The study also noted that men who go bald at the age of 20's, most will not experience a high risk of aggressive cancer cell or tumors growth at an early age. Not yet known is also take a benefit from prostate cancer screening in men with hair loss at a young age.

The study, published in the journal Annals of Oncology, said that male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia) is very common, and usually will affect about half of all men at some stage in their lives. Prostate cancer is also associated with the hormone androgen in men which associated with hair loss.

Researchers still need a way to identify people at high risk for developing this disease and further studies to determine appropriate interventions. Researchers also have not definitively concluded prostate cancer association with baldness. But the common factor of the development of prostate cancer usually derived from genetic factors.

Na-Nose for early detection of cancer through breath

Research on cancer diagnosis at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, shows that a device called the Nano Artificial Nose (Na-Nose) can be used to detect metabolic byproducts in the breath of patients with head and neck cancer, which further can be used for early detection of head and neck cancer.

A study published in the Journal of Cancer Research explains that the device uses technology that promises the ability to detect different chemical compounds in a person's breath. Na-nose work sensitively to distinguish between people with and without cancer, even the detection of which patients have head or neck cancer as distinguished from lung cancer.

According to Professor Hossam Haick, detect head and neck cancer have complex diagnoses, needed a specialist. The study involved 82 volunteers consisting of 22 persons with head-neck cancer and various, and 24 people with lung cancer, and 36 healthy without cancer. The results showed that the breath test can see the pattern of molecules found in patients with head and neck cancer. The researchers still need to conduct a larger study about in relation to a potential method of screening for this disease.

Early detection of cancer is very important to do, including head and neck cancer, because if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body will be much more difficult to treat them. Early diagnosis will facilitate us in treating more quickly either by chemotherapy or alternative methods such as massage, meditation, acupuncture, aromatherapy, biofeedback, yoga, and tai chi, such as advice by Mayoclinic.

Detect Cancer by Dog Sniff May be More Accurate

In general, cancer does have a special smell that was possible even a doctor could smell it. But dogs are animals of the most expert in smell of a substance including cancer by smell from the feces of a patient suspected to have cancer.

The ability of a dog to sniff out cancer has been demonstrated by a study at the University of Kyushu in Japan. The researchers used trained dogs to sniff 38 stool samples of patients and have revealed 37 cancer samples correctly.

According to Dr Hideto Sonoda, one of the researchers, the dog has the advantage in the smell of certain chemical compounds as in cancer, so it is more accurate than human olfaction. It would be very helpful to know early-stage colon cancer that may not be done by today's modern medical equipment.

Detect cancer naturally by dog sniff without modern equipment may be more accurate ,quickly and almost no cost at all. A dog will only require a few seconds to detect cancer. If there is a more easy and safe, why do we have to wait for modern medical equipment that can replace the function of a dog in detecting cancer?
